Prayers

It's with much sadness that I have to share the news of my Uncle Gary's passing this morning. He has been ill with cancer for awhile, but it was still rather unexpected. My mom and Aunt Linda have been in Georgia with Aunt Connie since yesterday. Tony, Sophie and I will be making the 8-hour trek to Helen, Georgia tomorrow morning early. The boys will be staying at our house with Tony's mom. They have school and lots going on this weekend that I couldn't bear to pull them away from.

Many prayers are headed in my Aunt Connie's direction. Uncle Gary was always so good to my kiddos and the boys are especially saddened by his passing. He was quick with a joke and a smile and full of all kinds of information that boys found fascinating. I know this will not be easy for Aunt Connie, but we are all headed down to Georgia to support her. Although it's for an unpleasant reason, I am sort of looking forward to an unexpected weekend with my extended family.

RIP, Uncle Gary.
