Clarksville Little League Fall Ball Pee Wee Champs!
After many, many rainouts, Andrew's fall ball team finally played the championship game last night. It was supposed to be last week, but it's been so darn wet we haven't been able to get on the field. Andrew's team was #2, so they only had to play one tournament game (which they won). Last night, their championship game was against the #1 team. This team was good - they are the only team who had defeated our team all season. Plus, all the kids looked about 12. Their league age is actually 7-9, but Andrew's teeball coach convinced us he was good enough to move up even though he's only 5. Here's my little slugger warming up:
It's definitely a sign that Fall ball should be over when you have to wear coats and gloves to the game!

It was neck and neck for the first three innings. The referee was young and not very good - he tended to favor the other team, which got all the parents riled up. But in the end, our team ended up beating them 17-10. That makes them the peewee champions of the first-ever Clarksville Little League Fall Ball tournament.

I've mentioned before that Andrew is at least two years younger than some of his teammates, but as much as four years younger than others. I was SOOO proud of him last night. His coach gave him the game ball as the most valuable player for the game. Amazing! He is so proud! His coach also gave all the kids special awards, and Andrew's was the "Golden Glove Catcher".
