Our holiday weekend was as jammed as the rest of our days, but in a good kind of way. On Saturday, my friend Angie from HGS got married at a golf course near Indy. The weather was great, the wedding was beautiful, and we got to hang out with some friends. What more could you want? The theme of their wedding revolved around golf, since Andrew is a golfer. The bridal party came and left in fancy golf carts, which was awesome. Angie and Andrew left in a horse and carriage.

Tony and I enjoyed the time to catch up with some of our Indianapolis friends.

There were six HGSers at the wedding - and three were related! The bride, her mom, and her sister have all been on staff with us for many years, along with Julie, Amy and I.

Tony's grandma is a firecracker baby, so we always go to church on the fourth with her. This year, the boys were in uniform because they were marching in the parade with the scouts right after Mass.

Sophie loves a parade!

After the parade, we took naps and then went to Memaw's for a birthday dinner. We came home and played in the yard with the kids for awhile. That was a nice change from the rat race we're usually running. Tony ran out and got one box of fireworks (those things are expensive!) because the boys really wanted some of our own.

Needless to say, our small supply was a big hit and earned Tony some major "cool daddy" points. After we lit our small supply, we headed inside and watched the fireworks over D.C. together. It's always a shame to return to the "real world" after a weekend like that!
