Back to busy...

We've had a relaxing (but busy) weekend. On Friday after school, Tony took all three kiddos to the pool by himself. I intended to do laundry, but I fell asleep on the couch. It was a long first week! Saturday morning, I took Sophie to DanceWorks for the last dance camp of the summer. It was Alice in Wonderland themed, hence the teapots they made. She had so much fun and can't wait for regular dance classes to start soon.
While Sophie was at camp, Mom and I went shopping. Tony took the boys to Lowe's for their Saturday "build-it" clinic and then they went back to the pool again. Saturday afternoon a pop-up severe thunderstorm blew through. It was quite the surprise storm -it lasted less than ten minutes but packed a punch. Our neighbor's fence blew down and our grill blew over, plus the playhouse roof was off again. I'm thankful our roof doesn't take as many hits as the playhouse does. Lots of people are still without electricity. Thankfully, we only lost our cable and internet and it was only overnight.

While we were without television last night, I curled Sophie's hair in sponge rollers. She got up this morning and decided since her hair was beautiful she wanted to wear her princess dress from Aunt Erin's wedding to church. She may be a little hard to handle in a few short years!

After church, Tony had to go to a Louisville Bats game for work. Andrew went with him, but Aidan decided to stay home with Sophie and I while Sophie napped. This evening was the "Back to the Pack" party for cub scouts. We were back at the Clarksville pool (three days in a row - we've gotten our money out of our pass this weekend). We had fun swimming with our friends and then headed to the park for a hot dog roast to kick off the new year of scouting. Here are Matt and Tony hanging out in the pool, watching the kids.

The past two weeks, Matt has been home on leave for R and R. He and Erin went to Florida to pick up Hunter, and last weekend they took the boys to Holiday World. This week, Matt got to bring Hunter to the first few days of school and hang out with us at cub scouts tonight. He brought us some neat stuff from Afghanistan and the kids loved getting to see him. They are so glad to have Hunter back, but were sad to have to say goodbye to Matt. He leaves tomorrow, but will be back home around Christmas for good.
Praying for his safety, as well as the safety and sanity of Erin and Hunter while they wait for his return!
