Christmas Preparations

We've finally made it to Christmas Eve morning! Here's what we've been doing to get ready for the big day!

We finally got the boys' "big boy" room put together. We got rid of the toddler bed, so they're both sleeping in the bunk bed now. We also repainted, wallpapered, etc. They love it! In the picture below, the fire helmets are hand-me-downs from Tony's dad that he saved for each of the boys. The cute double desk was mine when I was little, but before that it was my mom's and grandma's. My grandmother's great-uncle made it for her.

Well, our new room is finally inhabitable. It looks really good. There are a few things left for the contractor to do, but they're cosmetic for the most part. My mantlepiece has to be hung, as well as the cabinet doors. Tony and I moved the furniture ourselves after the boys went to bed. We managed to get the couch stuck in the doorway, but we were determined it was going out the door. My big wish was to get the tree up, and that was accomplished so I can't complain too much (even if it only has about a third of the regular number of ornaments.

This is a picture of the boys before church on Sunday. They woke up and were so excited to see the new room "finished". The sweater Andrew is wearing was actually Tony's when he was little - his great aunt made it for him. As Tony pointed out, however, he was in second grade when he wore it. Andrew is so tall!
On Sunday night, we went to mom's to bake cookies for Santa. I'm not sure exactly what I'm saying to Andrew in the second picture, but I know Tony sure picked an unattractive time to take a picture!Merry Christmas!

It looks like your family is all ready for Christmas. We are surviving a huge snowstorm that won't seem to let up - we got another 4 inches overnight. It is supposed to be 45 this weekend so that should help melt some of the white stuff.

I hope you are feeling well and are getting ready for Baby Girl Singleton to arrive. I bet you are so excited to meet her.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
