Happy New Year!

We've been very busy saying good-bye to 2008! On Tuesday, the goal was to get the nursery painted. Meanwhile, the weather here has been gorgeous so our contractor decided to go ahead and pour the new driveway and patio. There is no end to the excitement when a cement mixer comes to your house!

After the boys had their fill of watching concrete dry, they moved on to painting. My mother is much braver than I am, so she gave them paint brushes and designated a wall for them to "help" with. They actually did better than I expected!
On Tuesday evening, we took the boys to meet up with some friends for pizza and bowling. They'd never been bowling before and had a blast! They actually did quite well, all things considered.Unfortunately, we were all getting together one last time before Tamara, Tom and Ben move to South Carolina. We'll miss you guys!

We did something entirely out of character for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day - nothing! I just knew I wouldn't feel like going or being anywhere late this year, so we went out to dinner and then came home. This morning we went to Fr. Paul's Latin Mass in the chapel of the old St. Anthony hospital. I wish my picture of the boys there had turned out lighter - it's a beautiful place. Then we had breakfast with Paul back at his place. The boys were surprisingly well behaved - I should let them stay up late more often, apparently!
Happy 2009!
