Busy Blogger...

I realized this weekend that I haven't updated our blog for almost two weeks! It's not been for lack of doing things - in fact we've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to stop. Tony's working two jobs, one of them second shift, so I'm pretty much on my own in the evenings. With Tae Kwon Do and football practice, plus nightly homework, Andrew's schedule has kept us all hopping. Toss in cub scouts, my class at UofL, and Aidan's soccer practices all starting in the next couple of weeks and we may just meet ourselves coming and going.

At any rate, here is my update for the past two weeks in pictures:

After testing twice and a private lesson, Andrew finally earned his blue belt. He's just five belts from his probationary black belt now. We are so proud!

One Saturday morning before he went to work, Tony took the boys to a workshop at Lowe's. They built bug boxes.

Tony got off work early on Friday, so we headed to the fair.
Safety Town - Andrew is now too tall.

Sophie adores animals and was in HEAVEN at the fair!

She's actually screaming because Aidan got to hold the chick and she didn't.

So, the free concert the night we were at the fair was MC Hammer. We happened to be close to the stadium when the concert was starting.

We debated...and of course we went in! Duh, it's MC Hammer! So my children's first ever concert was MC Hammer. When I was dancing to him with the junior high pompon squad, I would have never imagined I'd see him in concert with my children. Wow....just wow.

Again, the irony. Here's Tony and I at a concert for someone who was crazy popular when we were young...and the picture was taken by our children. It's sad, really. When did we become nerds? Even more ironic - I have now seen both MC Hammer and Coolio in concert in my lifetime. Do I look like someone who should be able to say that?

We had a great time at the fair, and were quite proud of ourselves. We did the math - general admission and parking would have cost us $36, but Tony had free passes and parking. We found a booth giving out free ice cream, packed our own drinks,Sand bought the boys nachos at the concert. So our total expenditure at the Kentucky State Fair with three children for four hours was a whopping $8.75. Pretty darn amazing.

This weekend was filled. Saturday morning, Mom and I went hunting for a flower girl dress for Sophie for Erin's wedding. We lucked out at VonMaur, of all places. We found a gorgeous dress that's perfect on sale for $23.

We had one birthday party on Saturday afternoon for a friend from TKD. Today, we had a Chuck E Cheese party for Andrew's friend, Wyatt. We also had an extra kiddo. Erin was called in to work, so we took Hunter with us for the day. I think all the kiddos had a good time.

Sophie did NOT want to get out of the bus the entire time.
After the party and some rests, we decided to blow off everything that needed to be done at home and head to the pool. Tony was able to take a break for an hour and swim with us as well. When we got off work, we threw some dinner on the grill - making the most of our last few weekends of summer!
