Happy Easter!

On Holy Saturday after the parade and naps (for everyone - hallejuah!), the boys dyed Easter eggs while Tony cut grass. We also tried our hand at making really cool Easter story cookies that y0u "seal" into the tomb (oven), but they didn't quite work. Live and learn.

We always go to the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday rather than Easter Sunday. It's much longer, but I love lighting the Easter fire and starting in darkness with the candlelight. The boys love the cake and punch afterwards. This year was not a record for length, but we still didn't get home until almost midnight which meant that the Easter bunny was up until one. At any rate, we looked good when we headed to church!
This morning after hunting eggs and gorging on candy at home, we headed to Mom's for lunch with Mom, Dad, Aunt Linda, Uncle Steve, April, Jason, Ann and Robert and the kids, Grandma Atherton and Sr. Mary Adolph. Sister had not seen Sophie yet, and she was a little enthralled.
Sister is laughing in the picture below because Aidan (who is much too smart for his own good) had just quipped that he was having his picture taken with his two sisters.
I love the picture of Hannah, Emma and Sophie!
Here's the whole gang (minus Sophie, of course!) ready for an egg hunt!
And they're off!!!! I wish my camera was this good...I had to steal Dad's pictures! And a Happy Easter with much candy eating was had by all...
