April Fool!
I hate April Fool's Day. I haven't met too many teachers who are big fans. But the boys were really into it this year, so after searching the internet, I planned a trick of my own. We told them they were getting a treat for dinner - cupcakes first and then the grilled cheese for dessert. They were totally excited - until they started eating.

Turns out, my cupcakes were really mini meatloaves with pink mashed potato "icing". Aidan was mad. He still hadn't caught on and wanted to know why he couldn't have a grilled cheese instead of a meatloaf. He came around in the end, though, and ate the meatloaf. Here are my cupcake creations - pretty good if I do say so myself.
The grilled cheese was the best part and looked the most realistic. Angel food cake sliced into "bread" and yellow colored icing as the cheese. They looked so real that I don't think I could have told the difference if I hadn't made them myself.
Happy April Fool's Day!
