Getting Ready for Christmas

I've gotten a little behind on posting pictures, and I wanted to try to get caught up today because I know we'll have a million more once the Christmas festivities start this evening. Tuesday after the kids got out of school, we took them all to get haircuts.

Although she's pouting, Sophie was actually really excited to have her hair cut at the salon and to get "princess" curls.

Wednesday and Thursday we ran around doing last minute shopping, dentist appointments and doctor check-ups. On Wednesday evening, we went to my father and Debbie's to have our second Christmas event. We had a great dinner and the kids were excited about their gifts. Andrew's favorite was a Maui fire department shirt, Aidan loved his Sponge Bob legos, and Sophie is a big fan of her pink DS (Leaspster). I'm not complaining about my new toy, either - I got a Kindle and I can't wait to have time to use it! After play practice on Thursday, Tony and I wrapped Christmas gifts until 2:30 in the morning. One of the things Aidan asked Santa for was a "ginormous" candy cane. Thank you, Schimpffs, for delivering on that one. If you see Aidan before tomorrow morning, don't tell!
On Friday afternoon, the kids and I went to Mom's for our annual cookie baking. This year, Aunt Connie was in town to help.

We left Mom's and headed to the Green Tree Mall, where our school's music teacher had organized a "flash mob" caroling event. The kids (and Tony and I) had lots of fun walking around the mall singing Christmas songs.

We left the mall and headed straight home to put the kids to bed by 7:30. We were getting up again at midnight to head to Fort Knox to welcome home Uncle Matt! More on that in the next post!
