On Friday, it was 70 degrees and we had a devastating round of tornadoes that wiped out entire towns within ten miles of our house. The boys and I spent the first round in the basement at school, and then waited out the second and third rounds in our own basement. As you've probably seen on the national news, the impact on our little communities was unbelievable. The loss of life and property is heartbreaking, but the stories of survival are amazing. We are anxiously awaiting our opportunity to help.
Today, not even 48 hours later, we awoke to this:

Four inches of snow on March 6th. Two days after 70s and spring storms. Welcome to Indiana - if you don't like the weather, wait 24 hours. Heck, wait two hours and something will change.
Our Lady of the Snows, anyone?
Love our neighborhood in the snow!

We were on a two hour delay this morning, which meant after I got my phone call (and the kids were still miraculously asleep), I reset the alarm clock and got two more hours of sleep. That also meant that we didn't get to play in the snow until this afternoon when school was out.

The snow was melting quickly, so we had to play fast!
Sometimes being the oldest means no one can pull you.
Sophie was the most vicious of the snowball fighters!

When the backyard got too slushy, we moved out front, where the boys proceeded to make a snowman (of sorts).

Sophie got tired of snowman building.

Well, they tried their hardest with 45 degrees and sunny skies!

I hope this is our first and last snowy day of 2012! Even though it was beautiful this morning, I am ready for spring!
