The first thing we did when we arrived was head to the Planetarium to watch a show about flight. Andrew and Aidan thought it was amazing and remembered lots of things from our visit to the Air and Space Museum in D.C. I thought it was interesting how our museum visits have changed since the kids have gotten older. Instead of just running from thing to thing, Andrew was interested in sitting down and using the computers and reading about the exhibits.

Indianapolis
On Thursday, we packed up and headed to Indianapolis for a day at the Children's Museum. We left around 8 am and Sophie dozed off for her nap before we arrived.

Sophie and Aidan still liked things to be more hands on - like the archaeology dig.
The boys and I had some trouble reassembling this puzzle, but they were proud when they finished!

We ate our picnic lunch in the food court.

After lunch we headed up to ride the carousel. Sophie had been waiting for this all day!

Aidan liked the water play.

We all loved the Lego exhibit!

As we were getting ready to leave, there was a presentation on flight given by one of the Wright brothers. Andrew got to demonstrate how a bird flies.

Afterwards, the boys couldn't wait to talk to the actor.
After we left the museum, we drove downtown and stopped at the Indiana War Memorial. The memorial closed 15 minutes after we arrived, so we had to make quick work of our tour.
I love this picture of Sophie trying to keep up with the boys!

After a great day, we stopped for a bite to eat at Cheeseburger in Paradise. I love their food and wish that we'd get one nearer to Louisville. Sophie made me laugh because she changed the lyrics of the Buffet song to, "I like mine with milk".

And, for a great end to spring break, my lilac is blooming! It's the first year in a long time that it hasn't been fried by frost.
Back to school tomorrow!
