Today, we took off for the zoo with Monica and her family. We were planning to go anyway, so I was really excited when she called to see if we wanted to go with her - four adults are far better than one. At least we outnumbered my children. We went today because it looks like the rest of our spring break may have some rain in the forecast.

Spring Break - Monday
Sophie turns eight weeks old today! She has such a little personality now. She still eats like clockwork and is not sleeping for very long stints at night. She's growing like a weed - she goes for her two month checkup tomorrow, so we'll share her new vitals later. She is very good-natured, and has started smiling, giggling and cooing. She's content to be left alone while her big brothers get all the attention. However, she hates to give up and sleep when she's tired. She has to be snuggled, jiggled, and coerced into lullaby land. I think the outfit and the picture below makes her look a lot older than her two months! (Just a wardrobe note - the outfit was the very first pink one I received - mom had it waiting for me at work the day after my ultrasound!)

This evening, both boys had baseball practice. Aidan's team is practicing at the park in our neighborhood (the one with the goats), so he and I walked with Sophie. Tony dropped Andrew off there after practice so he could make it to the fire-fighting class he's teaching. It was such a nice evening - we dropped off books at a neighbor's house and stopped to chat with some friends on the walk back while the kiddos ran around the yard. Although we're coming up on our fifth year in this house, we're just now getting some younger families in the neighborhood. It's such a nice, cheesy little piece of suburbia to be able to walk to ball practice and visit with neighbors. Leave it to Beaver, anyone?
