Back to School
Today was the first day back to school for the boys and me. We all managed to get up and out the door on time, although my goal of feeding Sophie did not come to pass. She is a great sleeper and had no interest in breakfast at 6:00 am. So the breakfast task fell to Meme when Sophie was more awake. I cannot believe how tall and grown-up Andrew looks in his uniform!
I had to take picture of the boys' new shoes. Aidan had an ancient hand-me-down pair of Fisher-Price shoes that he would not give up. He calls them his tapping shoes because they make noise like my high heels when he walks. Mom and I had to take him shoe shopping and let him clomp around in several pairs until he found some that met his approval.
After the boys waited around in my classroom with me, Tony came by to walk them to their respective rooms.
Andrew would not let Tony come into Mrs. Pickerrell's room with him. The picture below was sent to me by another parent. Tony had to leave Andrew at the door. No tears for us!

Aidan returned to preschool with a big smile on his face. If he cries next year, it'll be because he doesn't want to leave Mrs. Stuerer.
We all had great first days back at school. Andrew was so proud of all the things he did and the new friends he made. Aidan wouldn't tell me much, but that's par for the course with him. Let's hope the rest of the school year is all smiles!
