And finally, a little tooting of my own horn. Tony recommended me to write for Examiner.com as well. I applied, and I am now Louisville's Elementary Parenting Examiner. TaeKwonDo Awards (again...)
It's hard to believe we've been doing this martial arts thing for an entire year now. It's not anything Tony or I ever did as children, nor did we ever imagine our kids would be interested. However, they have both flourished and grown while taking TaeKwonDo, and we have made some wonderful friends at the academy. Sadly, Aidan has decided he no longer wants to continue and so this was his last awards ceremony. Since Andrew will still be taking classes, it's my guess that Aidan will only watch for so long before he decides he wants back in - time will tell. Anyway, this evening we breathed an special sigh of relief - both boys had to retest and we were unsure whether they'd be receiving new belts. Thankfully, Aidan earned a brown belt and Andrew is now the proud owner of a red belt - which means his next test will be for a black belt. Granted, it's only at the "cub" level, but when he passes he'll move into the juniors and begin his quest for a "real" black belt, should he choose to continue. He's so proud of himself!

Although TKD has not been Aidan's "thing", he does have a thing for his teacher. Even though she got married two weeks ago, he confessed his undying love for her at testing again this week.

We are so proud of the boys! As long as we're bragging, I have to say that Andrew is doing wonderfully in kindergarten, AND he's getting ready to play on the new Clarksville Fall Baseball league. We decided that even though he's only five, he needed to be challenged after two years of t-ball. Thus, we moved him into the peewee (seven and up) league. He actually had to try out and be drafted. We were informed through the grapevine that even though he's two or more years younger than the other players, he was one of the top picks for the coaches. WOW!
