There just aren't enough hours in a day. Today, we had four places we had to go, and three things we missed because there just weren't enough hours in in the day. This morning, SAS had a pancake breakfast fundraiser that I had to work. Because of that, we missed out on a local parade that Andrew could have been in, as well as "Touch a Truck", one of the boys' favorite community events.
At noon, Andrew had his first fall ball baseball game. We moved him up from teeball into the peewee league. He is only five and playing with the seven and up set, but apparently he was one of the top draft picks. I am so incredibly proud. So is Sophie!

Andrew loves to play catcher, and he's good at it, too. They let him play three innings and then moved him out past 2nd base to save his knees.

Peewee plays by real baseball rules - no more everybody getting a turn. Three strikes, you're out. Andrew had three at bats, and got a hit every single time. No strike outs for him, thank you, and there were many "big kids" that did.

When it was all said and done, Andrew's team won 11-0. Hooray!
After the ball game, I would have loved to go to the Mount Saint Francis picnic. However, Tony had already agreed to help out with the Harvest Homecoming Pageant, and I had promised Andrew he could go to a birthday party for his friend. The party was held at the little girl's grandma's house, who just happens to be a co-worker and best friend of mine. They rented a huge bounce castle, grilled hot dogs, and invited the whole class to generally run the yard. I was nervous about taking the three kiddos by myself, even to Nancy's, but we ended up have a fabulous time. Sophie enjoyed the grass.

Aidan persistently tried to blow up his balloon. Andrew, of course, played baseball out in the yard with the birthday girl's dad.

I hate that we missed a couple of old favorites, but we had an awesome Saturday. The weather here was breezy and cool, making me think maybe fall is finally on it's way. And, dare I say, maybe the boys are starting to outgrow some of the fit throwing!
