Great at Eight (months, that is!)

Our sweet Sophie is now eight months old. In some ways, it seems as though she has been part of our household forever. On the other hand, I still have to pinch myself to reassure myself that I am no longer the only female in the house other than the dog.

I think six months to about one year has to be my favorite age. Sophie is so responsive and smiley, and full of new tricks. She can say dada, mama, and some "h" sound, as well as blowing raspberries and squealing/yelling loudly when provoked. She claps her hands and waves, although she waves with both hands most of the time. She can pull herself to a sitting position from her back or belly and is trying so very hard to crawl, even though she is (so far) unsuccessful. She has two adorable teeth on the bottom. With so few teeth, we've been slower to introduce table food although she has been eating cheerio-like puffs. Below is a picture of Andrew sharing a snack with her.

Sophie is spoiled beyond belief. She loves to give hugs and is (yeah!) a mommy's girl, even though she loves her daddy a lot. She also is the only child in the house who is enamored by the dog. She absolutely adores her big brothers, especially Andrew, and lights up whenever she sees them. Look at her face in the picture below!

It's hard to believe how quickly Sophie is growing. Here's a short video of some of her new tricks.
