Winter officially arrived on December 21st. You would have never known it by the weather in Southern Indiana, however - until this week. We started back to school on Monday with highs that were in the 20s with windchills sometimes below zero. This coming weekend, I saw a possible night time wind chill of -15. That's right. Negative. Fifteen. But it's not the weather that's the big indicator of winter. It's the fact that I apparently have a squirrel living in my house, preparing for hibernation. Here's the evidence:
1. A pacifier found in the cabinet:

2. A bracelet in the kitchen drawer:

And, the culprit!

No rodent, but a small, sneaky little girl who likes to empty my cabinets and drawers of my things and replace them with hers. She gets quite tickled crawling in between cabinets and finding her "treasures". She'll sit for hours and open and close the door, just to see if what she's squirrelled away is still there. As long as she's hiding her things, we're okay. Once she can reach the remote, keys, or anything else important, I guess I'll know where to check first. This is a new one on me - the boys never hid thing like this. The other thing Sophie does that is unique (and I guess it goes to show how technology changes) is mimicking people with cell phones. It's pretty cute, and she mostly says "Dada" while she's talking on the phone, which tells me Tony may be on his Blackberry a little too frequently.
They're calling for a big snow in the morning, starting early and getting worse throughout the day. I don't really want a snow day to make up, but it's looks like that may be the case. It's so cold that the snow won't be going anywhere for awhile. Stay tuned for snowman pictures!
