Make them walk the plank!

I've been trying to make the most of our last few summer mornings together, but it's been difficult with class in the evenings and assignments to complete. This morning I considered the zoo, but then I saw something on Facebook about the Frazier Arms Museum. They have a pirate exhibit the boys have been wanting to see, and today was "doubloon" day - $1 admission for everyone.

Wouldn't this be a nice addition to my family room?

Besides the pirate exhibit, there are also all kinds of weaponry displays. It's a pretty amazing place, but not really kid friendly. There are a few hands-on things scattered about, like this costume treasure chest. Our final assessment was that the pirate exhibit was great, but the rest of the museum is not at all kid-friendly. I was glad we went on dollar day, because we were in and out in a little over an hour. However, I can tell that Andrew will grow up to be a museum-lover. There was a beautiful exhibit of photography featuring American soldiers that I wish I could have spent hours in. I had to drag Andrew out of it because Sophie and Aidan were at the end of their patience. So, there is hope for at least one of my children.
