Blessings

Although I don't usually like to be the center of attention, I have to admit that it's been nice to hear how appreciated I apparently am. I think that everyone should have a day to be recognized and Teacher Appreciation Week should definitely last longer!

When I arrived at school this morning, to my surprise, my wonderful principal had supplied donuts and a pretty bouquet of flowers with a big "Congrats" sign. Then, at lunch, the staff had ordered me a fruit basket. I was going to share, but I was told to take it home for the family. Of course, I took pictures before we ate it!
My beautiful fruit lasted about 10 minutes. The boys and I stood at the stove and devoured it skewer by skewer. All that's left is a small bowl for my lunch tomorrow and one pineapple flower that I snatched for Tony. Maybe that's a sign that I should pack all three of us bigger afternoon snacks!

The most touching (and most surprising) surprise came in the middle of the afternoon. I had flowers delivered to my classroom. Turns out they were from the Office of Catholic Education! What a sweet thought!

It's been a whirlwind - I have to take data that shows my students' growth with me, so my mom came to help dig through files at school this afternoon. We've also had to take a couple pictures with my students to send to Indianapolis. I was interviewed by one of the local papers and was told that another would be calling. Here's the link for the News/Tribune story.

I'll post pictures from the Aidan's funny foot parade tomorrow!
