Before I get around to the topic of the title, here's a picture I finally got my hands on:

It's the Wizard of Oz gang and my little munchkin from the YMCA float in the Harvest Homecoming Parade. Can you say typecast, Aidan?
Although I didn't receive Teacher of the Year, being in the top ten apparently also has its perks. Blue Bell Ice Cream contacted my principal about coming to school to recognize my accomplishment. Apparently their corporation looks for opportunities to honor good news type events within their distribution areas. Mr. Sisk came to school, bringing ice cream bars for entire school and a cooler full of ice cream for me to take home. I also got a letter from the company president and a copy of their commemorative book. When Andrew realized we got to take the cooler home, he fell over on the floor.

I cannot say enough about the thoughtfulness of Blue Bell. Not only did they treat the whole school, they brought special treats for our lactose-intolerant kiddos and a sugar free ice cream treat for our diabetic. They also made half the ice cream in my cooler "no sugar added" because of my hypoglycemia. They absolutely will be my ice cream of choice from now on!
Here are a few other events to catch up on -
I didn't realize that Sophie was trying so hard to see the tv in this picture! She has almost outgrown her Phi Mu legacy shirt, so I needed to get a picture in it.
Wednesday night was a rare free night for us. The weather was finally cooler, so we decided to make caramel apples. I made the boys unwrap the caramels.
Good thing I got this picture early - both boys and their wiggly teeth decided they didn't like the caramel apples this way. They prefer to dip their apples. That's okay - Sophie and I finished them off!
And we're finally caught up to the present. Tonight began the Boy Scout Centennial Jamboree - a huge campout celebrating 100 years of boy scouts and including approximately 15,000 scouts. Tony went early, so I took Andrew to meet the group of kids who were carpooling to camp this evening. The event last until Sunday morning, although Tony and Andrew are coming home at the end of the festivities late tomorrow night. This afternoon when I picked Andrew up from school, we went and got an early birthday gift - his tiger cub hat.

He was so excited, although he did convince Tony to let him call me because he claims to be homesick. In the same phone conversation he also told me he got to stay up until 10:00 and watch a movie. I already miss them both - it doesn't seem possible that Andrew's that old. I'm also the teeniest bit jealous - this is the perfect fall camping weekend.
Aidan, Sophie and I went to the grocery and bought the makings for Halloween cookies. It's so hard to wait for them to be finished!

We watched a brand new Thomas movie, and Aidan is on movie #2 in my bed. By the time I get there, I expect he'll be asleep. We have big plans for tomorrow - the toy store and a friend's birthday party. Then my campers will be home late. Tony took the old camera with him, so we should have some camp pictures, and Andrew turns seven on Monday - stay tuned for birthday pictures!
