This post is all about Sophie's skills in the fine arts. (I'm not sure she has a career in it, however, because she is equally as skilled at wrestling and hitting on her brothers). Often in the afternoons while I'm waiting on Tony to get home and Hunter to be picked up, I'll play the piano. It gives me something to do when Sophie's playing in her room and I have a clear view of all the doorways that she could escape in and out of. She loves to put on a show, and recently she has started singing and "playing" with me. Unfortunately, her repertoire limits me to playing "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Happy Birthday".
Sophie's dance class had a mini-performance today. After they had class for about thirty minutes, the parents got to come in and watch them do a dance and then eat Valentine cookies. Sophie adores dance and was all smiles going in this week.
So excited that she's getting ready to show off for Mommy, Daddy and the boys!

Below is a video of her prize winning performance. Only about a third of her moves are actually what Miss Heather told her to do. The rest is...well, let's call it interpretive.
At any rate, I was pretty impressed with what she had learned in three weeks and her attention to task, so I went ahead and ordered her a recital costume today. Can she really be old enough for that?
Sometime soon, I'll be making up for all the girlie stuff with a post about the boys - tomorrow we have "scout Sunday" at church, plus the first basketball games of the season.
