Hoosier Hysteria

Hoo - Hoo - Hoo - Hoosiers! Go IU! Fight! Fight! Fight!

Tony and I have been IU fans for our entire lives. Although we're loyal, it's not always easy to be a Hoosier fan. Particularly when they spend a lot of time losing. But we always try to make it to at least one game. We even took Andrew to one two years ago. Today, we got to take Aidan and Sophie to their very first IU basketball game. We headed off to Bloomington about 9:15 this morning.

My dad wanted tickets to see IU play for his birthday, so he and Debbie invited all of us to go along. We had balcony seats, and thanks to IU's recent losing streak, a little bit of room for the kids to move around. We also had a family package, which included hot dogs, popcorn and cokes. That kept the boys occupied for the first half of the game.

Sophie had a wonderful time at the game. She loved the music and the action. She cheered and danced and ate through almost the whole game. She didn't get fussy until the very end of the game.

Aidan had quite enough sitting in one place by the end of the game. When we stopped for a photo op on the way out, he was a little grumpy. The rest of us were in high spirits, however. The Hoosiers broke their losing streak and beat Northwestern in a great game that went into overtime.

I think Sophie may be the Hoosier's new good luck token! Maybe they should send us season tickets!
We stopped and had dinner at Cracker Barrel with Daddy and Debbie on the way back. Then Tony and I drove past the Sellersburg Bowling Alley that burned down Tuesday so the boys could see it. (When you live with a firefighters, the whole family becomes a bit obessessed.) We came home, watched some episodes of the Muppet Show and then sent the kids off to bed.
Spring is in the air! I know this for several reasons beyond the 50 degree weather today:
1. Andrew had his first little league practice last night.
2. When we got home from Bloomington, the boys and Tony played catch in the front yard. In the daylight. Until after 6:30. Without coats.
3. I had a hot fudge shake from Zestos.
Come on, summer time!
