There's a saying around here...if you don't like the weather, wait an hour. That has never been more true than the month of April this year. We can go from heaters to air conditioners and back, raincoats to sunshine in a single day. Cases in point:
Last week, we had a beautiful Sunday - mid 80s, record setting. Tony decided to teach Andrew how to cut grass. Obviously since he is only seven, he won't be doing this on his own any time soon. But, it's nice to know he can earn his keep.

Last Saturday was the kickoff for the Derby Festival: Thunder over Louisville, one of the world's largest air and fireworks show. It was high fifties and raining. Mom and I took the boys down to walk around. We last about an hour and came home. Enough said.

This past week, the temps jumped all over the map. Finally for Andrew's ball game we got semi-warm, but cloudy.

Love this picture of Aidan and Sophie getting along!

Then, Tuesday night we had severe weather. This is not uncommon in the spring time. We knew it was coming in late, so we actually put the boys to bed in the basement to save us the trouble of moving them later. It was a good choice. There were many tornado touchdowns, two within five miles of our house. Accompanying the storms were 90 mph straight line winds. We lost the roof to our playhouse, our neighbor lost a tree that took down their powerlines and the back porch. Thankfully, there were no injuries.

Since the bad weather, we've been pummled with storm after storm and torrential downpours. Right now, we're constantly under flash flood warnings. It's forecasted to get six more inches in the next four days. Our back yard was under water on Saturday - up to Tony's ankles and making the dog house an island.

Regardless of the weather, Easter arrived. Here's Sophie in her bunny outfit on Saturday morning:

I'll post the rest of my Easter picture tomorrow. I've gotten behind on the blog and I'm sorry. I promise I'll be caught up by the end of the day tomorrow!
