A busy Wednesday

Most of the summer has come and gone fairly uneventfully, but yesterday we had two big events scheduled for the same day. In the morning, I was one of the speakers at the Clarksville Rotary meeting. My friend Monica and I described the Girls' State program to the Rotary, and then one of this year's delegates spoke. I think they may sponsor a girl next year, which was an exciting result.

As soon as I left Rotary, we headed to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. Daddy and Debbie were able to get tickets through the union at Kroger cheaply, so we spent the afternoon there. I think the boys had a super time. I hadn't actually been there in years - since before Six Flags bought the park. Andrew is tall enough that he could ride some of the "big" rides, including a roller coaster. Poor Aidan was still limited to the kiddie area.

Even Sophie was able to ride one ride - the Tin Lizzies. Let me just say that Andrew will not get his driver's license for a long, long time.

All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better day. The weather cooperated and the boys didn't melt down, even without naps. That's about as good as it gets!
