2010 Champions

I am not sure that I could be any prouder of Andrew and his teammates than I am tonight! Tonight was the championship game for the season, and the Reds were up against the number one team, most of whom are aging into the next division. Those boys are huge! Here's Andrew before the big game:

Unfortunately, the other team (mostly the other team's adults) were quite intense. Our boys weren't deterred, though. It was neck and neck the whole game. Here's Andrew at bat. He got a hit each time, and even was able to score once.
Before I was on the edge of my seat, I took this cute picture of Sophie rolling in the grass:
It came down to the bottom of the final inning and the other team was at bat. We were only up by three, with two outs. Andrew was playing catcher. Somehow he got a hold of the ball, threw it to first and the batter was out. Game over! Here's the final score:
I have finally come to the point in my life where Andrew is old enough that the things he does are out of my control. I wanted so badly to play for the boys (not that I would have done any better!) Luckily, I had to stay behind the fence and the victory was even sweeter because they did it on their own. Andrew even earned the game ball. Here he is as soon as the game ended. He's more than a little excited!
Look at how grown up he is! And so proud of himself!
Receiving his trophy - it reads "Clarksville Little League Peewee Division 2010 Champs!" (or something close to that - it's in his room and he's asleep)
Here is the championship team!
I am so incredibly proud of all the boys. In spite of some unsportsman-like conduct, they persevered and won fair and square. Way to go!!!!!
