Holiday World

I didn't really take many pictures last weekend, but the kids and I had a busy Saturday. Andrew received his new belt for Tae Kwon Do, followed by a private screening of the new Karate Kid movie, which was really good. Then Aidan had a pool party with his baseball team. Both boys had fun swimming, but it was terribly hot. We ended the day by going to downtown New Albany for a Celtic festival. My mom captured Sophie and I nose to nose over our ice cream.
On Tuesday, we headed to Holiday World with some good friend of ours. Here is the obligatory picture with Santa:
Tony and Tom spent some time riding roller coasters. While we were waiting at one point, the kids were entertained by Holidog:
We covered the waterpark while it was really hot and before stopping to eat. Sophie fell asleep while Tony was carrying her back to the changing area, so we just let her sleep.

We ate in the Thanksgiving area of the park...yum! Then we cooled off by riding "Gobbler Getaway", where you are given turkey "callers" to shoot at targets and call in the turkeys. Tony and Tom were quite proud of themselves!

This will be Andrew's last year for the kiddie rides. He's about two inches shy of being too tall. He's in a great position this year - he can literally ride everything in the park.

We had almost covered the park when the severe thunderstorm warning was issued. We quickly debated, and decided it was best to try to beat it home. We got home about 20 minutes ahead of the storm and stopped for ice cream at Zesto since we missed out on our treat at Holiday World.

Here's the storm we outran. Seventy mile an hour winds packed a pretty good punch as it came through. I'm glad we made it home safely!
I head to Hoosier Girls State tomorrow, and this year I actually have a computer to take. I may be able to update from Terre Haute!
