Down by the Station

After all the commotion and planning of the wedding this weekend, all I wanted to do today was stay on the couch and get my house cleaned. Tony, however, had different ideas. Over the summer, he had purchased tickets to the Kentucky Railway Museum in New Haven, Kentucky. We've wanted to go for a long time to take Aidan, our train expert, but Tony's work schedule never seemed to fit. The tickets he had, though, expired today. So after church we loaded back into the van again, and off we went.

Sophie loved the train, more than we thought. She cheered and bounced all over the place!
There was a brief 25 minute stop at the end of the line when the train was turned around and we headed back the other direction. At the stop, there was a little general store with some good old Kentucky boys playing bluegrass. Actually, one of them was apparently the Kentucky fiddle champion or something. At any rate, Sophie adored the music and made quite a scene dancing to every tune while everyone from the train watched. The musicians claimed they were going to hire her. Here's a little sample:

So, my house is still dirty and my laundry is not finished. But, we had a beautiful fall day for a train ride through Kentucky. Sometimes, being spontaneous is a good trait!
